Conference outline
The Young Citizens Danube Network was founded in July 2010 in the course of the European Union Strategy for Danube Region (EUSDR). It is the ambitious aim of the youth initiative to strengthen the Danube region and therefore to make a contribution to the young generation. The Young Citizens Danube Network is hoping to use the June conference to establish a successful and lasting youth network.
The conference will last three days. The participants shall get the possibility to better get to know each other, partake in interdisciplinary workshops and discuss challenges of the Danube region using concrete examples. Approximately 50 participants are expected. The aim of the conference is to create a dialogue among young people coming from 14 EUSDR countries. This dialogue is supposed to enable the young generation to successfully learn from each other, to exchange their attitudes concerning cultures and the models of democratic participation. Thus, the conference is to be regarded as a pilot scheme for a sustainable establishment of the network.
