Balkan Children and Youth Foundation in cooperation with The European Fund for the Balkans and Gallup Balkan Monitor has the honor to invite you to a panel discussion: Internal threats or external “enemies”: What is the real danger for Macedonia?
Following the European Commission’s evaluations of progress of the Western Balkans towards European integration, the new Gallup Balkan Monitor research on public opinion in the region offers insight into citizens’ views of the EU. In order to present and widely acknowledge the results of the Gallup Balkan Monitor, the European Fund for the Balkans in cooperation with Gallup Europe initiated a series of Gallup Balkan Monitor presentations and public discussions in the capitals of SE European countries on the future of the Balkans, its European aspirations and the potential of “attitude change” and europeanisation of the societies in the region.
Panel discussion: The event in Skopje: Internal threats or external 'enemies': what is the real danger for Macedonia?, will be held on December 16, 2010 and will focus on Macedonian respondents’ attitudes and perceptions. The Gallup Balkan Monitor investigates public opinion on a broader range of issues, from attitudes towards EU integration, satisfaction with life standard and living conditions of citizens to the desire to emigrate and expectations from the government.
The survey results will be discussed by the: Ambassador Erwan Fouere, Special Representative of the European Union in Macedonia, Dr. Srdjan Kerim, General Manager of Media Print Macedonia, Prof. Dr. Dimitar Mirchev, University professor and adviser to the President of the Republic, Imer Selmani, President of New Democracy and Radmila Sekerinska, Chairman of the National Council for European Integration.
Panel discussion will be moderated by journalist German Filkov.
We very much hope that you will be able to attend. Please confirm your participation by replying to the email address: verica@balkanyouth.org, by Tuesday, 14 November 2010.
