On the 4th of March 2013 in Skopje, Macedonia, a group 4 consisted of Anja Damjanović (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Daryia Pavlova (Bulgaria), Ivan Jovanov (Macedonia), Ivana Petkukjeska (Macedonia), Gentian Bici (Albania) and Senton Kaçaniku (Kosovo) organized the final event of the project “viEUpoint”, a public debate on the topic “How can the EU do better in the Balkans". The keynote speakers on the public debate were Aleko Stoyanov (Winner of the case-study competition), Lidija Dimova (Executive director of the Macedonian centre for European training) and Radmila Sekerinska (Chairwoman of the parliamentary commission for EU integration and ex-vice prime minister for EU integration). The goal of the debate was to promote the booklet with five best case-studies and to steer a debate about how to improve the work of the EU in the Balkan countries. The event attracted a huge interest and there were around 50 participants from all the spheres of the society. The whole debate also gained significant media attention and it was followed by 6 media, which only contributed to the visibility of the event and the LDP programme in general. The duration of the debate was 2 hours followed by engaging questions and answers. The event was organized in the framework of the Southeast and EU-Leadership Development Programme 2012-2013 (www.seeyoungleaders.com).
