This event is organized by the LDP V Fellows (6 young participants from Kosovo, Macedonia, Rumania, Serbia and Turkey) with the support of the EU Information and Cultural Centre in Kosovo, in the framework of the “Southeast Europe and the EU - Leadership Development Programme”.
“Regional Cooperation through Education” aims at:
- providing specific information on regional cooperation in the field of education
- identifying best practice examples (inter-university cooperation, civil society and international actors) in the SEE region
- raising awareness on the need for regional cooperation
- bringing together relevant actors from the field and facilitating networking among them
- sharing experiences and exchange of knowledge on education and cooperation in the region of SEE
- creating opportunities for new possible educational projects
The final product of four months research is booklet that will be launched in Prishtina, 4 March 2011. Launch will be followed by the panel debate.

“…Education is one of the most important instruments in terms of regional cooperation not only in the Balkan region but all around the world.
Throughout history - even during war times - every nation has established cooperation in the field of education with other states and nations.
Young generations, being the most open to change and new developments, have always been in the centre of this cooperation and solidarity.
Thus the founding fathers of European integration and the subsequent leaders put educational cooperation at the centre of the Europeanization process in the countries of the European Community and its neighborhood…”
